[01] — How it works
From camera to dashboard, three steps.
Here is exactly what happens between a camera capturing video and you seeing a number on your dashboard.
Step 01
Camera captures movement
Our AI cameras record video on-site, just like any store camera. Nothing is uploaded anywhere at this stage. The footage stays inside your store.
Step 02
Edge AI processes on the device
A device inside your store reads the video, extracts counts and behavioral signals, then discards the raw footage immediately. All of this happens on-site, in real time.
Step 03
Your dashboard gets the numbers
Only anonymous, aggregated numbers reach Vitrac: traffic counts, peak hours, zone activity, conversion estimates. Never a face, never raw video.
What gets discarded at step 2: Raw video frames, individual face images and any visual data that could identify a person. By the time a number reaches your dashboard, it cannot be traced back to an individual.

- Visitor counts, per hour, day and zone
- Age group estimate (for example 25 to 34)
- Gender estimate, aggregated only
- Entry timestamps
Processed, then discarded

- Names or contact details
- Device IDs or phone signals
- Purchase history
- Loyalty card data
- Any personally identifiable information

Raw video is never stored or uploaded
Camera footage is processed in real time, on-site. It is never saved long-term and never sent to a server. What your cameras record in your store stays in your store.
Your data stays yours
Your analytics belong to your business, stay private, and remain under your control. Nothing is shared or used outside your own operations.
All AI runs on the device in your store
Our processing hardware sits inside your premises. The AI models that analyze video run locally, so raw video never has to travel across a network.
Recognition is opt-in and under your control
VIP recognition, watchlist alerts and staff exclusion are optional modules. They run on the device in your store and you decide whether to turn them on.
